Holmes Brothers and Mendoza also on Card

For only the fifth time in his career Fidel Maldonado Jr. will be fighting in his home state of New Mexico. The Albuquerquean is scheduled as the main event of the September 5 Holmes Boxing and Orthrus Promotions “ElFuturo” card which will take place at the Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino just north of Santa Fe.
A major change for Maldonado Jr. (19-3, 16KOs) for the upcoming bout is a ‘full time’ move that he’s making from the 140lb. light welterweight class to the 135lb. lightweight division.
Joining Maldonado Jr. on the Sept. 5 card are popular northern New Mexico fighters, brothers Patrick Holmes Jr. (3-1, 2KOs) and Brandon Holmes (6-0, 4KOs) of Santa Fe, Española’s Antonio “Tone” Martinez (3-2-3, 2KOs) and Albuquerque’s Brian Mendoza (6-0, 4KOs).
Also on the card are Los Lunas‘ Manuel Eastman (2-3-1, 1KO) and Albuquerque’s Brandon Muñoz (1-1-1, 1KO).
Opponents have yet to be named for any of the fighters. We will provide additional details as the card materializes.
