Carl Frampton to face Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. in El Paso, Texas
According to multiple reports, undefeated, IBF World Super Bantamweight, Carl Frampton is expected to make his United States debut July 18 on a PBC on CBS card in El Paso, Texas.
A press release issued by Premier Boxing Champions first made the announcement but has since been deleted from the website.
Frampton, a Belfast, Northern Ireland native, will be facing Mexico’s Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. (25-1-2, 15KOs) in the Irish fighter’s first match since signing with advisor, and Premier Boxing Champions’ mastermind, Al Haymon.
In Frampton’s first defenthis past February via a sensational fifth-round TKO victory against American Chris Avalos.

Another bout expected to be on the PBC on CBS El Paso, TX card was a bout between current IBF Super Welterweight champion Cornelius Bundrage and Jermall Charlo is off according to a tweet from Bleacher Report’s Kelsey McCarson.
Bundrage (34-5, 19KOs), according to the tweet suffered a cut during training camp. This marks the second time that Charlo’s bid for the same world title is postponed; in March of 2014, Charlo (21-0, 16KOs) was scheduled to face then IBF Super Welterweight champion Carlos Molina, however due to immigration issues Molina was unable to fight in their bout.
No word as of yet if Bundrage vs Charlo will be rescheduled.
