The hard-hitting power couple of FIT NHB will use their trained combat talents to kick-off a benefit event that includes a dinner, comedy show, and live music.
On Saturday, January 24th, Tim Means and Brenda Gonzales will hold a MMA Clinic for the youth at the Moriarty Civic Center. The duo will focus on children ages 6 & up as long as the participant can keep focused on the instructions being given. Means and Gonzales have a history of working with the youth and this event will definitely offer children the opportunity to learn from two of the sport’s best competitors.
“Martial Arts has saved my life! Let’s give our youth a way to vent because idol hands are never good for anyone. Suicide and Bullying is an everyday struggle. Let’s help our kids build trust and confidence within themselves. That is what Martial Arts has done for me.” – Tim Means
After the MMA clinic, the event will continue on into an Enchilada Dinner that will be complimented by a comedy show, live music, and dance. The live performances will feature Carlos Medina y Los Gallos, Graviel De La Plaga, and El Trio Los Gallos.
The event is very honed in on focusing the youth of the area as well as surrounding areas. Means and Gonzales both have a strong desire to reach out to the youth of our local communities as well as an inspiring commitment to make a difference.
“I’m excited to be an inspiration to our youth. It’s cool to have boys look up to me, but I especially wanna inspire the young ladies of today. Growing up I always had low self-esteem and self-image problems. As a young adult I faced a few circumstances in which I wish I knew how to defend myself better. Mixed Martial Arts has rebuilt my confidence mentally and physically. I want our youth to set goals, follow their dreams, and to know if they work hard anything and everything is possible!” – Brenda Gonzales
Tickets will run $20 per person with free admission for kids seven years old and younger. Interested parties can also reserve entire tables that sit ten and will run $220 per table.
