Holly Holm UFC Debut Postponed Due to Injury
SWFight.com has learned that UFC Bantamweight Holly Holm has been forced to withdraw from her UFC December 6th UFC 181 promotional debut bout against Raquel Pennington due to a neck injury.
The injury, according to a source, was suffered about two weeks ago during wrestling practice while Holm (7-0) was shooting for a takedown. Holm would experience discomfort in the neck and shoulders, and ultimately undergo an MRI.
Those waiting for Holm’s UFC debut will likely not see that first bout until early 2015. There is no word on if UFC has a replacement-opponent for Pennington (4-4) to face on the UFC 181: Johny Hendricks vs Robbie Lawler II undercard.
SWFight.com will provide more details as they emerge.
