It has finally happened.
Holly Holm has signed with the UFC. Moments ago UFC President Dana White tweeted the news of “The Preacher’s Daughter” signing on to the sport of MMA’s premier promotion. White’s tweet read “Welcome to the UFC @_HOLLYHOLM”.
Holm (7-0) has made quite the run on the regional circuit rattling off six technical knockout finishes in seven outings and becoming one of the most discussed opponents of UFC Champion Ronda Rousey. While negotiations have stalled several times, many knew that it was only a matter of time before the World Champion Boxer would bring her talents to the world famous Octagon.
After her most recent victory, a fifth-round technical knockout over Juliana Werner at the Legacy FC 30 event in April, many speculated that Holm would enter the UFC. However, some very unkind words from UFC President Dana White towards Holm’s team, most specifically manager Lenny Fresquez quickly halted the anticipation. It appears now that both sides have come together to give the fans the opportunity to see one of MMA’s premier strikers compete against the very best in the world.
Holm will enter the ranks of the UFC as one of the most successful woman combat athlete and one of the greatest boxers of her time. An opponent has yet to be announced but stay tuned to SWFight for more details. Join us in wishing Holly Holm congratulations in her big news and best wishes in her future UFC endeavors.
