King of the Cage and MavTV are excited to announced its return to Southern New Mexico, home of some of the toughest MMA fighters in the region! King of the Cage will follow-up their successful and exciting February fight card with the promotion’s second New Mexico event. On April 19, 2014, inside the Las Cruces Convention Center, fighters from New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Arizona will all fill-up the fight card. Amongst those fights is the featured bout between King of the Cage Amateur Champion Robert Herrera (7-1) and the undefeated Cristobal “El Mosquito” Chavez (4-0). The duo will vie for the KOTC 135-pound Amateur Title; but it will not be the first time they face one another in MMA competition.El Paso’s 10th Planet BJJ fighter Cristobal Chavez defeated Farmington’s 505 Fight Factory fighter Robert Herrera over a year ago and would remain Herrera’s only amateur loss to date. Herrera would move forward from that loss and start an impressive win streak that has included capturing the promotion’s title and defending it as well. Chavez can make the case that beating the Champion makes him the favorite heading into the bout and Herrera has been vocal about wanting to get that loss avenged.
"Rock'em Sock'em" John Rozema (1-0) will be back inside the cage in April inside the Las Cruces Convention Center. Judgement MMA's Rozema will look to remain undefeated in his professional MMA career.

Hard-hitting John “Rock’em Sock’em” Rozema will also return to action fresh off of his back-and-forth, exciting bout in February where Rozema’s power and technical striking resulted in yet another knockout finish. Rozema (1-0) is now on his way to becoming one of the area’s professionals to keep an eye out for. His rumored opponent, Derek Cranford should be a familiar name to Rozema; Cranford fought Rozema’s teammate Adrian Cruz at a King of the Cage event a few years ago and would be the only man in Cruz’s professional career to drop him with strikes.

The two featured bouts are definitely shaping this card to be a must-watch for fight fans. The entrance (or reemergence) into the Las Cruces market should be of intrigue as the King of the Cage promotion will now operate from Southern New Mexico all the way up to Southern Colorado making the show cover just about the entirety of the region.King of the Cage Match Maker Jon Judy said of the event, “So far we’ve had one of the strongest responses from all gyms in the local area (El Paso, Las Cruces, Etc) we’ve ever seen.”The upcoming, yet-to-be-titled event should be a good one fight fans, make sure not to miss the Professional and Amateur Mixed Martial Arts action in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Complete card details to be released in the upcoming week and tickets go on sale March 31!  Stay tuned to www.kingofthecage.com for more details.
