Live MMA action is headed back to the Camel Rock Casino just in the outskirts of Santa Fe and they will be taking one of the youngest and brightest fighters in the area. When Triple-A-MMA makes their fifth appearance in the fight game, Luttrell’s MMA representative Andres Quintana (6-1) will be in action.
After making an amazing run in the first half of 2013, Quintana was limited by an injury that prevented him from continuing on his meteoric rise up the ranks. In a four-month span between February and June, “The Bullet” would rack up three stoppage victories including a dynamic performance in what was considered by most as the “Fight of the Year” when he defeated Russell Wilson at Bellator 91 in February.
Now back in action, Quintana will look to place his name back into the argument for New Mexico’s youngest stand-out star and one of the region’s premier talents. While there is not a confirmed opponent yet named for Quintana, there has been some talk about the Perez brothers being in action. Derek Perez competes at the 145-pound limit and he’d be an interesting opponent. In just two weeks, King of the Cage “Rumble” will feature a few fighters who compete at the 145-pound weight class and they could also be considered to be opponents for Quintana.
The choice of venue is very interesting as combat sports has not hit the Camel Rock Casino in several years. With the boxing scene revamping the Buffalo Thunder Resort fight scene, a stop in Camel Rock Casino for Triple-A-MMA will definitely mean an easier venue to sellout.
