Tapia Biopic Makes Highly Anticipated Premier in New Mexico October 17th

Earlier today tickets went on sale for the New Mexico premier of Tapia, a documentary/ biopic on the life of Albuquerque boxer Johnny Tapia. The first screening in Tapia’s native state of New Mexico will take place Thursday October 17th at The Lensic theater in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The film made is world premier on June 15th at the Los Angeles Film Festival and drew praise from most critics.

In 2012, director Eddie Alcazar spent time with Johnny Tapia conducting interviews for a biopic. The film would become the last interviews conducted with Tapia before his untimely death in 2012.

Tickets run between $10-$15 and can be purchased by visiting
