Angelica Chavez Out Of XFC Bout With Stephanie Skinner Due To Illness

SWFight.com has learned some unfortunate news about tomorrow night’s XFC event that is scheduled to take place inside the Albuquerque Convention Center. The “Boiling Point” fight card was supposed to feature the return of “South Valley’s Own” Angelica Chavez in a bout against Stephanie Skinner. Unfortunately for fight and Chavez Dojo fans, she has been scratched from the bout due to illness.

Chavez has apparently been battling a double ear infection during fight week and has now officially been pulled from the bout. Dealing with an infection during fight week is imaginably very difficult as cutting weight can be effected marginally. Infections are also known to weaken the individual making it very detrimental to compete in combat bouts.

No replacement has been announced for Chavez but it is doubtful that the XFC will keep Skinner on the card. It is very difficult to find a replacement fighter on days notice. It is a huge blow to the fight card as Chavez is not only one of the most popular fighters in the area but the bout itself came with immense anticipation.
