The next mixed martial arts opponent for former pound for pound boxing queen Holly Holm has finally been named. According to several MMA news outlets she will face Ionia, Michigan’s Allanna Jones at Legacy FC 21 on July 19th at the Arena Theater in Houston, Texas, in Holm’s first MMA fight since retiring from the sport of boxing.
Jones (2-2) who fights out of American Muscle MMA, will most notably be remembered for her last outing, a third round submission loss at CFA 11, where she faced transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox. The fight marked the first time Fox fought after admitting to being transgender.
Holm (3-0), recently signed a four-fight contract with Legacy FC which also allows her to fight in other promotions during her time with the company. The contest will mark the first time Holm fights outside of her home state of New Mexico as a professional mixed martial artists.
In 38 bouts as a professional boxer Holm (32-3-3, 9KOs), only fought outside of the state three times, the last coming in a draw against former light middleweight champion Mary Jo Sanders, in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
