Just south of the border, Chinaco MMA Mexico is putting on an event that should have the fight fans of regional New Mexico MMA buzzing. The event titled “Mexican Stand Off” has a fight card from main event on down full of our states local fighters. The event is scheduled for May 25th and will be held inside the Gymnasio de Josue Neri Santos in Juarez, Mexico.

The main event will be a fight between two neighboring region’s stand out prospects as Jackson-Winklejohn fighter Andres Quintana (4-1) will take on Bushido MMA’s Brian Castillo (2-2) in a Lightweight bout. While that fight is the showcase bout of the evening, it will not be the only fight to feature some New Mexico talent.

A slew of fighters from the Jackson-Winklejohn and Mean 1 MMA gyms are rumored to be included on the card. Of the bunch, professional MMA fighters Kevin Croom (9-4), Norma Center (1-0) and Dustin Center (3-3-1) will be amongst the seven fights billed to be on the professional card and Falon Ring is expected to compete on the amateur portion of the fight card.

Of the bunch, Mean 1 MMA’s Kevin Croom may have the most momentum heading into the event. Currently on a four fight win streak that three finishes, Croom after this upcoming bout will have competed five times in seven months. A win in Mexico will push the streak to five and undoubtedly earn Croom some attention from more prominent promotions. In fact, Croom was scheduled to face off with Northern New Mexico MMA star Angelo Sanchez this past February for Bellator MMA.

Being a product of the Jackson-Winklejohn camp and a winner of her last bout, Norma Center also has momentum on her side. Making her professional debut this past March, Center had a very successful amateur career (5-0) before jump starting her pro career. Having tried out for the upcoming season of the Ultimate Fighter, Center represents the new wave of talent rushing into Women’s Mixed Martial Arts.

Both Dustin Center and Falon Ring are seeking resurgence in their upcoming bouts as the pair lost their last MMA fight. Ring most recently competed for the Triple-A-MMA event where he would succumb to defeat for the very first time in his amateur career. With Center coming out of Jackson-Winklejohn camp and Ring out of the Mean 1 MMA gym, there is no doubt that both fighters will be well prepared to right their ship and get back on the winning track.

Stay tuned to SWFight.com for more event coverage and bout announcements as the information is announced. As always, we encourage fight fans to jump on board, cheering our locals on as they make the trip down south across the border to compete in this event.
