Press Release: The community is invited to join the Dona Ana County Sheriffs Department as they “send-off” Las Cruces’ own WBA World Super Welterweight Champion, Austin “No Doubt” Trout. Trout is leaving to the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas to defend his title against superstar boxer, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, on Saturday April 20, 2013.

The escort begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16th at the Dona Ana County Building, 845 N. Motel Blvd., in Las Cruces. The bout will be televised live on Showtime with preliminary bouts beginning at 7:00 p.m. MST. This will be the biggest and most important fight of Trout’s career after defeating Miguel Cotto at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Trout began boxing at the age of 10-years-old with the Las Cruces Police Athletic League (PAL) Boxing Club. Las Cruces PAL Boxing is an organization that takes “at-risk” youth off the streets and teaches them decipline through boxing.
