Tonight a large group of members from the combat sports community will be inducted recognized at the 2013 El Paso Boxing and Martial Arts Hall of Fame Awards banquet in El Paso, Texas.
The inductees all either participated or were ambassadors in the sports of Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai, boxing and several other arts. Those expected to be inducted tonight are: Matthew Aguilar, Clarence Beckman, Alberto Romo, Luis Maldonado, Jerry Martinez, Sam Vasquez, Jose Garibay, Hilary Sandoval, Nico Perez, Shane Schuman, Plus legends Jake Martinez, Alex Guerrero, Manny Ortega, and first ever Lifetime Achievement Award to Ladislao Vicencio.
Performance awards will also be awarded to those individuals the have recently excelled in their respective combat sports. The recipients include former WBA Super Welterweight champion Austin Trout, Jennifer Han, Abie Han, Louie Burke, Ernest Hewitt, Hugo Sida and many more…
Special guests expected to attend are internationally recognized martial artist Ernie Reyes Jr., 6-time national boxing champion and Olympic Bronze medalist Jesse Valdez.
The ceremony will take place at Region 19 located at 6611 Boeing Dr in El Paso, Texas with the event expected to begin at 6pm. Tickets for the banquet start at $18.50 (tax not included) and a reserved table for eight prices at $160. There are limited public seats.
Donations for Candlelighters of El Paso will also be accepted at the event.
