An Xtreme Fighting Championships (XFC) representative has confirmed that the promotion will be making its first trip west of the Mississippi when they make a stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico late this summer. The promotion is planning on hosting their XFC 25 event at the Albuquerque Convention Friday, September 6th.
Fighters expected to participate are Albuquerque natives Angelica Chavez and Joby Sanchez (confirmed), both who train at Chavez Dojo in the South Valley. Also expected on the card is Jackson’s-Winkeljohn’s Landon Vannata.
Chavez was signed to the promotion in early January and was scheduled to face Stephanie Skinner this upcoming weekend but was forced off the card due to an injury. Both Sanchez and Vanatta were signed to the promotion because of their strong performances at the 2012 and 2013 XFC Tryouts, respectively.
In 2012, Sanchez took the XFC Tryout and was awarded a five-fight contract with the organization. Just last month Vannata attended the tryouts in Illinois where his performance was good enough to earn him a one-fight contract.
