SWFight.com was able to confirm today some unfortunate news for the regional fight fans of New Mexico. The very popular King of the Cage promotion that was scheduled for March 23rd in Albuquerque has been canceled and will be moved to a date and venue still to be announced.

FIT NHB’s Head Coach and King of the Cage representative Tom Vaughn said via text that the promotion is “Still having a show [in] ABQ” but the March 23rd “…Date will be pushed back”.

The King of the Cage promotion has been a long lasting business putting on shows for New Mexico consistently throughout the years. Several prominent fighters have fought for the promotion including current UFC fighters Diego Sanchez, Tim Means,  Isaac Vallie-Flagg and Quinn Mulhern.

The scheduled event for March 23rd would have been the first show for King of the Cage in 2013 and the first show since leaving Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino which was the long time home of the event. Stay tuned to SWFight.com for more updates and details about the postponed event.
