Yesterday a proclamation was signed by New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez to proclaim Satuday December 15th “Austin ‘No Doubt’ Trout Day.”
The proclamation comes in association with a parade scheduled for the same date by the City of Las Cruces in honor of Trout’s December 1st victory over four-time world Miguel Cotto at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The victory catapulted Trout to prominence in the national boxing scene and to the upper echelon of the world wide boxing rankings.
Trout becomes the only combat sports athlete in 2012 to have a day proclaimed to him by the State.
