Matt Leyva to Face Anthony Birchak on Jackson’s MMA Series X Card December 1st at the Tingley Coliseum

The very popular Jackson’s MMA Series returns to Albuquerque on December 1st, 2012 and will be bringing the highly successful event back to Tingley Coliseum. In September, the series had a successful turnout at the Tingley Coliseum in a night that featured quick finishes and tough battles alike. This time around, Jackson’s MMA Series X will feature former Marine, Matt Leyva (9-2 professional) who has been a main stay on the Jackson’s Series circuit against Anthony Birchak (8-1 professional), a submission ace from Arizona’s Apex MMA.

The Jackson’s-Winklejohn’s representative Leyva, undefeated in four appearances, will bring with him brutal ground and pound as well as an impressive ratio of finishing his opponents. In nine career wins, only one has ever seen the judge’s scorecards.

The fight is very relevant, not only because the two competitors are very talented bantamweights but the two 135-pounders are stylistically contrasting. While Leyva is a hard nosed, power hitting ground and pounder, his two career losses have come by way of submission. The submission game is where opponent Birchak has flourished, finishing five of his eight career wins by way of submission. The fight should be an interesting one as both fighters clearly have different agendas they want to implement.

A win for either fighter propels them to new heights as either impressive competitor can make their name outside the regional scene with a win. With very large fan bases for local fighters in both Arizona and New Mexico, the winner of the bout will not only gain popularity but will extend their respective two fight win streak to three and add the other’s name to a résumé that will impress even more then before. The fight has plenty on the line and both fighters should be coming in hungry to make a huge statement with a win.

The event will also feature a full card of professional and amateur bouts and like it has so many times in the past, the Jackson’s MMA Series is sure to bring the excitement MMA fans crave.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday October 24th on http://holdmyticket.com/
