Monday Morning Recap

It was an entertaining week locally with the Golden Girl/Golden Boy promoted Solo Boxeo: Battle in the Bosque card, weigh-ins and bouts finally taking place. The national spotlight was on the Santa Ana Star Casino for the bouts and they didn’t disappoint.

Originally only the co-main event and main event were to be broadcasted. A total of four fights were shown on Telefutura’s telecast with six of the eight fighter’s featured being from the state of New Mexico.

Solo Boxeo: Battle in the Bosque (Boxing)

Hector Muñoz got back in the winning column with a dominant performance over John Revish.

Rosales’ Brandi Montoya avenged her lose from last year against Natalie Roy of Santa Fe.

Team Atrisco’s Jesus Correa Jr. was victorious in his professional debut over Charles Alderete, in a pretty good slugfest.

Yorden Hernández of Albuquerque’s looked sensational in his second career victory over Roswell’s John Herrera.

In her fist career boxing match, current MMA fighter Heather Jo Clark, pulled off a split decision over Farmington’s Chavira Jack in a very competitive fight that could have gone either way.

Destiny MMA “Unleashed”

For unknown reasons Santa Fe’s Joshua “The Destroya” Montoya was forced to pull out of his main event fight against undefeated Hawaiian Russell Doane.

The following message was posted on his Facebook Fan Page-

“Due to some unfortunate events and questionable practices business wise I was forced to cancel my fight for safety concerns and overall to protect my well being in context of my health and career.”
